Club Team 2008-09: LOS ANGELES LAKERS (NBA)
Career: Barcelona (Spain-ACB, 1997-2001), Memphis Grizzlies (NBA, 2001-08), Los Angeles Lakers (2008-09)

Pau Gasol is the biggest ever basketball legend in Spain. In the last eight years, he has led the national team to a World Championship title, earning MVP honors, and to a silver medal in the 2008 Olympic Games and three medals in EuroBasket competitions. He lacks gold, though, and will look for it at EuroBasket 2009. That's why he still agreed to play after an exhausting season in the NBA, which ended in an historical way as Pau Gasol, playing for the Los Angeles Lakers, became the first Spanish player to win an NBA title. It was his best season ever and the title followed an All-Star Game participation and a nomination to the All-NBA third team. But Pau Gasol's game fits even better in FIBA competitions, where his skills, size and willingness have made him unstoppable in the low post. Just check his stats in the latest tournaments: amazing scoring and rebounding averages with good shooting percentages. Probably, we are talking here about the biggest star in the upcoming EuroBasket.
