52 years after winning silver at EuroBasket in Belgrade as part of the Yugoslav national team, Ivo Daneu has returned to the legendary "Silver Hall" to promote EuroBasket 2013.

As the ambassador of EuroBasket 2013, Daneu travelled to the Serbian capital with other members of the EuroBasket 2013 delegation to promote the event at the Belgrade Tourism Fair, which took place in Hall 1 of the Belgrade Fair Complex, or as it is more nostalgically called by basketball fans in honour of the feats of Daneu and his Yugoslav teammates, the "Silver Hall".

Returning to Hall 1 also had Daneu enjoying one or two nostalgic moments of his own. "I have very nice memories of this hall. More than 12,000 fans watched our match against [the] Soviet Union here," says the former guard, adding, "The atmosphere was excellent. I was almost late for one of the matches, due to rush hour. I told the taxi driver to stop two kilometres away from the hall and ran. Coach Aca Nikolić asked me, why don't I warm up and I told him I already did that on my way to the hall."

Whilst in Belgrade, the delegation also took the opportunity to watch local club Partizan take on their Slovenian rivals Union Olimpija in an Adriatic League game. At the game, Daneu presented a shirt to Partizan president, Predrag Danilovic, with the phrase, "Navijam za Srbiju" (I cheer for Serbia) emblazoned on it.

Vice president of the Serbian Basketball Federation, Dejan Bodiroga, is pleased of the co-operation between his federation and the EuroBasket 2013 Local Organising Committee (LOC).

"It's nice that we have the opportunity to promote EuroBasket together. I am really looking forward to the event. We have a great cooperation with the LOC of EuroBasket 2013 and I believe that EuroBasket will be perfectly organised."
