Slovakia pushed undefeated Sweden close on Wednesday before losing by just six points but they were no match for Georgia in another Group C game on Saturday. Zaza Pachulia dominated for the Georgians in Tbilisi with 34 points and 14 rebounds as the home side routed the Slovakians, 91-50. Viktor Sanikidze finished with 14 points and 14 rebounds for Georgia, who won for the sixth time in seven games and kept the pressure on Sweden (6-0) in the race for first place in Group C. Sweden travel to Tbilisi for a game on Wednesday that is likely to determine the winners of the group. Slovakia slumped to 2-4 with the setback. In the other Group C game on Saturday, Ireland defeated Luxembourg 100-83. Colin O'Reilly scored 25 points and Ian O'Boyle 23 for the Irish, who improved to 2-5 while dropping Luxembourg to 0-6. |
