Belgium looked in impressive form as they continued to prepare for the EuroBasket Additional Qualifying Round by defeating New Zealand 98-76 in Oostende on Wednesday night.

Dimitri Lauwers poured in 20 points to pace Belgium, who used the long-ball to keep New Zealand at arm's length by sinking 10 shots from beyond the arc.

Roel Moors added 18 points and Maxime Dezeeuw 15 for Belgium, who were without Los Angeles Lakers center Didier Mbenga.

The team coached by Eddy Casteels and Jacques Stas kept things tidy with only 10 turnovers, while forcing New Zealand into 24.

Belgium are to continue their build-up with games against Bulgaria in Sofia this weekend, before facing Bosnia and Herzegovina in Zenica in the AQR on August 8.
