The Netherlands delivered a first-quarter knockout punch en route to a 94-55 thumping of Albania in Nijmegen.
Having just lost at home to Great Britain in overtime, the Albanians arrived in Holland looking to set the record straight.
Instead, they played as if they had a hangover from the midweek setback and allowed their hosts to outscore them 26-6 in the opening 10 minutes.
With 5:51 still to play in the half, Marco van den Berg’s Dutchmen had limited the Albanians to just 10 points.
At half-time, the lead was 53-30 and they was no way back for the visitors.
Peter van Paassen had a game-high 21 points and nine rebounds for the Netherlands, who now share the lead in EuroBasket Division B Group B with Belarus on 3-1 records.
