Maria Stepanova is a legend in Russian basketball. She has already taken part in twelve campaigns of the national team. Her first experience was all the way back in Atlanta and the 1996 Olympics when she was only 17 years old. She has always been a dominant player while playing for the selection. During the last EuroBasket Women she even averaged a double-double, pouring in 13.8 points and grabbing 10.0 rebounds per game. Last summer her figures remained solid: 9.4 points, 6.5 rebounds per game. She started the season with club side CSKA Moscow but moved to Ekaterinburg in November. With UMMC, she averaged 10.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game in EuroLeague Women.
