Markéta Bednárová

Career: Zdas Zdar nad Sazavou (Czech Republic-ZBL, 1998-99), USk Prague (Czech Republic-ZBL, 1999-2009)

In 2006, Bednarova was no longer just a young talent in the national team. After an impressive EuroLeague Women season with USK Prague (11.1 points per game on 42.9% shooting behind the arc), she played an important role at the 2006 FIBA World Championship. Mokrosova even started twice and provided solutions when the offence was struggling. She is a dynamic and quick player, but it's very difficult to exist in the selection behind the stars from Brno. In 2007, she surprisingly had a bad season with her club and her 2007 EuroBasket Women in Chieti was disappointing as well. With the national team, she used to spend a lot of time on the bench when Machova (Horakova) was still around, but she should get more playing time this summer.
