Jana Vesela

Career: .Sparta Praha (Czech Republic-ZBL, 2000-01), USK Praha (Czech Republic-ZBL, 2001-03), Gambrinus Brno (Czech Republic-ZBL, 2003-08), Ros Caseres (Spain-LF, 2008-09).

Jana Vesela is expected to become the go-to-player of the Czech national team as Hana Horakova (formerly Machova) decided to rest this summer. She is a great all-around player as she can do just about anything to help her team. Thanks to her height and athleticism, she could play anywhere on the court. Last summer at the Olympic Games, she led the team in rebounds and blocks, but was also second for steals and assists. She is also a very good defensive player, able to control guards as well as inside players. Despite being relatively young, Vesela has already won many titles at the highest level. She captured the EuroLeague Women crown with Brno in 2006, the U19 World Championship (2001) and EuroBasket 2005 with the national team. Last season, she left Gambrinus Brno and played for Ros Caseres in Spain.
