Spain: Amaya Valdemoro Earns Player Of The Week Title
// 11 February 2005

Ros Casares Valencia traveled to Czech Republic this week in the EuroLeague Women to take on Loko Trutnov in their final encounter of the preliminary round.

Although Valencia were sure of a place in the play-offs, a win against Trutnov would give them a good enough regular season record to retain homecourt advantage in the play-offs.

Without US star Chamique Holdsclaw, Valencia’s task was that much harder. But it was Valdemoro who stepped up for the Spanish side, guiding them to a comprehensive 68-103 victory.

Valdemoro has been in a rich vein of form recently, starting with her 28-point 9-rebound haul last week against Pecs. In Trutnov she went one better, recording a season high 32 points, along with 6 rebounds and 2 steals in Valencia’s win.

Valencia face EuroLeague champions Valenciennes in a best of three match-up, starting on 22nd February in Valencia.
