Belarus battle Serbia with second place at stake in Group D.

In arguably the biggest result in women's basketball history in the country, Belarus hammered Croatia for their first ever EuroBasket triumph.

Maja Miljkovic and Serbia will look to secure second place in the group.
"This is a great win for us and we are extremely happy," said Belarus forward Tatyana Troina.

Belarus had shown signs against Spain that they had the makings of a good team.

The Serbians will be formidable oppositions after coming from behind to defeat Croatia convincingly before suffering a narrow defeat to Spain.

"I am satisfied with my team being able to keep up with Spain until the last seconds of the game," said Serbian coach Jovica Antonic.

Last time out: Belarus demolished Croatia 92-66 while Serbia lost to Spain, 79-76.

Key Match-up: Maja Mijkovic v Tatyana Troina. Both players have excelled in Italy this summer and will take centre stage in this clash in Ortona.

Key Stats: Belarus had five players score in double figures against Croatia. They were 35 of 58 (60.3%) from the floor, including seven of 13 from long range.

X-Factor: Belarus forward Sviatlana Volnaya has yet to get on track and could do just that against Serbia.

Speaking out: "Our victory over Croatia has allowed us to go into the final group game full of confidence and without pressure. We have to remain focus, we face another challenge against Serbia and let's hope we can play as well as we did against Croatia," said Troina.
