Turkey confirmed their ticket to EuroBasket 2007 Women despite losing 91-80 to Israel.
Turkey lead Group B with a 4-1 record, while the battle for second place is on between Slovenia, Ukraine and Israel, all of whom are currently 2-3.
Israel had been averaging a shade over 69 points per game going into the contest, but exploded for 91 against Turkey. Rebounding was a key factor in Israel's performance as they grabbed 43 rebounds to Turkey's 35.
As well as their good work on the boards, Israel shot 47% from the field and 92% from the free throw line.
The key period for Israel was the second quarter.
Trailing 22-30, Israel went on an 18-0 run over the next 6 minutes to open up a 40-30 lead.
Israel led by as many as 18 points in the third quarter before Turkey slowly began reeling them back in.
The Turks got to within five points in the fourth quarter, but Israel had an answer for every Turkish attack and held on for the win.
Liron Cohen led Israel with 22 points, while Jennifer Fleischer had 21 and Liad Suez Karni 18 points and 12 rebounds.
Israel play Ukraine in their final qualification game on Saturday.
