Quotes Spain - Slovak Republic
// 20 September 2003

Vicente Rodriguez, Head Coach Spain:

"From the very first minute we were really aggressive in offence and in defence, especially man-to-man. The team was very focused today."

"This win was important for two reasons; firstly in trying to achieve the first place in the group and secondly because we saw Slovakia beating Russia yesterday and this is good for our motivation."

Amaya Valdemoro, Spain:

"Our coach said we could be first in this group but only if we stay focused. Everyone knew how to come out and play today and each player knew her responsibility."

"This team has not only talent but also heart and character. We have an excellent atmosphere in the team and therefore we play as a unit."

Peter Kovacik, Head Coach Slovak Republic:

"Yesterday we played very well but today we just could not find our rhythm. Spain is an excellent team and they made the game very difficult for us."

Alena Kovacova, Slovak Republic:

"We started very badly and scored very few points in the first half. We need to help each other more and work together as a team."

"Spain has a lot of experienced players and they played very well today."
