Gordana Kovacevic in action
Following a number of Game MVP awards earned over the past weeks, Gordana Kovacevic now takes the Player of the Week accolade for Game-Day 11 of the EuroLeague Women following a mighty performance for Euroleasing Orsi Sopron in their nailbiting double overtime win over Pays D'Aix Basket.

With both clubs previously sitting on 6 wins and 4 losses, this victory took the Hungarian club into the top four of Group A, and within sight of a possible play-off spot.

29-year old Kovacevic put up incredible scoring numbers for Sopron: 66.7% for 2 points, 100% for 3 points (3 from 3) and almost 92% from the free-throw line (11/12) to total 32 points. She also hit the necessary 3-pointer with less than 10 seconds left in the first overtime to force the game to another 5 minutes of extra time.

Despite fellow Serbia & Montenegro national team member Lara Mandic's heroic efforts for Aix(28 points and 12 rebounds), Kovacevic's hot hands were enough to seal the win for Sopron.

Currently overall third in scoring in the League this season (18.7 ppg), Kovacevic is a EuroLeague veteran, having suited up for a EuroLeague Women club every season for the past seven years, reaching the play-offs 6 times and the Final Four twice: in 2000 with Gambrinus Brno, and 2002 with SCP Ruzomberok. With 3 games left in the regular season, Kovacevic's current form looks likely to lead Sopron to another play-off appearance.
