|WBC Novi Zagreb head coach Vladimir Ivankovic will in addition take over Croatian national team duties|
The Federation has announced he will replace Stipe Bralic, who has been in the hot-seat for a total of four years.
Bralic steps down having guided Croatia to a historic first appearance at the Olympics after a stunning and somewhat heroic run at EuroBasket Women 2011, when they finished fifth to open the door for London 2012.
However, the team hit the wall last year at EuroBasket Women 2013 and having won their first game in France, they went on a shock five-game losing streak - failing to fill the void left by their retired kingpin Sandra Mandir.
It will be a first taste of coaching any national team at any level for Ivankovic, who is currently trying to get his club side into the EuroLeague Women play-offs.
His first task for will be to oversee the EuroBasket Women 2nd Qualification Round campaign which sees Croatia pitched into Group F along with Bulgaria and Israel, making them strong favourites to advance.
