Eva Vitecková

Career: Zdas Zdar nad Sazavou (Czech Republic-ZBL, 1998-99), Gambrinus Brno (Czech Republic-ZBL, 1999-2010), USK Prague (Czech Republic-ZBL, 2010-11)

There are few players in European basketball who surpass Eve Viteckova in terms of her machine-like consistency and production when it comes to shooting the ball from the perimeter. A prolific scorer for over ten years with Brno, where she has been consistently impressive from long-distance, moving to arch rivals USK Prague last summer didn't slow her down. Only a broken finger could prevent her continuing to do her thing as she was named a EuroLeague All Star player once again but had to sit out with her injury. It would be easy to lose count of the number of domestic titles Viteckova has won since she is now into double figures which further underlines her influence on Czech basketball over the last decade. While at National Team level, it has been a similar story of success since her youth career to the senior team where she has an impressive medal haul. Incredibly, Viteckova has only failed to register a double-digit return once in ten major tournaments including EuroBasket Women, FIBA World Champiopnship Women and the Olympics. Consequently she has regularly finished top of the scoring charts for her country. If fully recovered from her finger injury, this natural born shooter should be back showcasing her sweet shooting touch yet again. The experience and offensive firepower of Viteckova is one of the main strengths on the roster and she is also the one player you sense can really light a fire under the Czech Republic and get them moving towards the latter stages of the tournament.
