PLAYER HISTORY
Ieva Kublina

Career: TTT/Rapa Riga (Latvia-LSBL, 1997-2000), Virginia Tech (USA-NCAA, 2000-04), DKSK Miskolc (Hungary-A Division, 2004), Lietuvos telekomas (Lihuania-LMKL, 2004-06), USO Mondeville (France-LFB, 2006-07), Dynamo Moscow (Russia-Superleague, 2007-08), TTT Riga (Latvia-LSBL, 2008-09), ZVVZ USK Praha (Czech Republik-ZBL, 2008-90)

Kublina is an irreplaceable member of the Latvian national team, an outstanding three-point shooter and a great player under the basket. During her American period, she was one of the best forwards in the NCAA. In 2004, Kublina became the first Latvian to be drafted by a WNBA club, when the Indiana Fever took her with the 31st pick, but she never played an official game there. Since returning to Europe, coaches of different clubs have struggled to find the best way to use her skills. After spending eight years far from home, Kublina chose to play for the famous TTT Riga like her mother did 30 years earlier. Last season, Ieva was a key player in the EuroLeague Women games, averaging 9.1 points and 8.7 rebounds in 31 minutes per game. But in the middle of the season, she signed for Prague and became the Czech Republic champion with USK a few weeks later.
