CSKA Maintain Momentum
// 28.11.2007

CSKA Moscow remain unbeaten in EuroLeague Women Group A, moving to 4-0 thanks to a thumping 109-69 victory over Fenerbahce.

CSKA were in a rampant mood and took less than a minute and a half to build up a 7-0 lead over the Turkish side.

And the game was as good as over by the end of the first quarter as Ann Wauters and Edwige Lawson-Wade poured in eight points apiece to help CSKA build a 34-19 advantage.

Wauters and Amaya Valdemoro were in astounding form with the former top-scoring for the Russians with 21 points while the Spanish girl was just behind her, sinking 20 points.

Canadian Tammy Sutton-Brown stood out for the visitors but her 18 points couldn't help them to a more respectable scoreline as they fell to 2-2 in the group.

CSKA started the second quarter as they'd finished the first as they established a 22 point lead with just over two minutes played and worse was to come for Fenerbahce as the Russians closed out the quarter on 63-32.

The third quarter was less frantic with CSKA only stretching their advantage by one point to 79-47.

But it was to prove the calm before the storm as in the final ten minutes Rebecca Hammon poured in 11 points and Valdemoro added eight to see CSKA clear the 100-point mark.
