Laia Palau

Career: UB FC Barcelona (Spain-1ª División, 1995-97), UB FC Barcelona (Spain-LF, 1997-2004), CJM Bourges (France-LFB, 2004-06), Ros Casares (Spain-LF, 2006-09).

Year by year, Laia Palau is changing her game. After more than one hundred matches with the Spanish national team, Palau has become steadier so that she can see some minutes as a playmaker spelling Elisa Aguilar for Ros Casares. Laia uses her quickness to be a very tough full-court and mid-court defender and also to drive to the hoop or shoot from four to five metres. Her path to glory hasn't been at all easy. Even though she had the skills in her early years, Laia didn't have the ambition she needed, that would come later. She attended the 2002 World Championship and some months later helped lift UB Barça's first league trophy. Bourges enjoyed her game for a few seasons before coming back to Spain to join Ros Casares.
