Sandrine Gruda

Career: INSEP (France-NF1, 2003-05), Valenciennes (France-LFB, 2005-07), Ekaterinburg (Russia-Superleague, 2007-09)

Without any doubt, Sandrine is the French player that can change the level of the national team. Tall and very athletic, she has improved a lot these past two years for Russian powerhouse Ekaterinburg. "Sandrine is already a mix of youth and experience", said Laurent Buffard, her coach this year. "She has tremendous potential, physically of course, and mentally she has a real desire to succeed. She is a killer. And she has a great work ethic. Her physical impact is even better now, and she has worked a lot on her weak left hand. She needs to be even better at the rebound and in her game vision. But she is going to be a great player." With or without her, the French national team does not have the same goals. Sandrine is the daughter of Ulysse Gruda, a former center for France who was selected to the national team seven times.
