Gambrinus Sika Brno have made their first signing for next season with the addition of Hungary international Timea Ivkovicné-Béres to their roster.

The 30-year-old center joins the Czech champions from Mizo Pecs.  Brno team manager Jiri Hamza said: "Beres has enough experience from the Euroleague Women. She was one of the best players for Pecs.

"We need a  player like her because we had a  lot of problems with tall players last season. I  hope she can help us a  lot."

The 1.92m Beres admitted she was unable to turn down the chance to play for one of Europe's most illustrious teams.

"An offer from Brno was very attractive because this team is one of Europe's best," she explained.

"I  wanted to change teams after seven years as well. I  would like to help Brno play in the Final Four of the Euroleague again."
