Ros Casares once again figure to be in the reckoning for EuroLeague Women honors this season with a team that could be the best in the club's history.

One of the newcomers to the team is Spain star Amaya Valdemoro, a player who is in her second stint with the team after spending a few seasons in Russia with CSKA Moscow.

The 32-year-old Valdemoro, the MVP of EuroBasket Women 2007 in Italy after leading Spain to a silver medal, has brought experience, offense and most importantly, defense to Ros Casares.

This summer at the Beijing Games, she was second in the women's tournament with an average of three steals per game.

Valdemoro had 19 points, seven assists and five steals in Ros Casares' season-opening 93-51 destruction of Lotos PKO BP Gdynia last week.

She recently spoke to FIBA Europe.Com about coming back to play in Spain.

FIBA Europe: What is the pressure like to play for a team like Ros Casares compared to a team in Russia like CSKA?

Amaya Valdemoro: Ros Casares is making a huge effort to be one of the best teams in Europe. We know that in Russia, they have the biggest teams in all of Europe and they dominate  all the competitions but we're  trying to do our best in the EuroLeague.

FIBA Europe: What is the aim of this Ros Casares team in Europe?

Amaya Valdemoro: We're trying to get to the Final Four. There, we can try and dream to win this title. We know it's difficult, but we have a great coach (Isma Canto) and a great team and a great team chemistry. So we're going to try and do our best.

FIBA Europe:  Are you a better player now that before you left Spain for Russia before the 2005-06 season?

Amaya Valdemoro: Yes, without a doubt.

FIBA Europe: What has changed about your game?

Amaya Valdemoro: I think I'm a more mature player in basketball, now. Before I was more power. Now, I'm not the same age of course but I can do more stuff on the court. I can pass, and I can shoot, I can do a lot of things. I don't need to be very nervous on the court, either. I just go out and do my  best.
