Ukrainian forward Olexandra Gorbunova led a talented crop of players at the European Championship for U18 Women in Bratislava.
The 185 cm Gorbunova was selected as MVP of the tournament. She led all players in scoring in Bratislava at 21.4 ppg, to which she added 9.8 rpg. Germany were unfortunate enough to face Gorbunova at her best, and in their preliminary round match-up, she scored 23 points and grabbed 24 rebounds.

Joining Gorbunova on the All-Star 5 at the guard positions were
Isil Alben (TUR) and
Sylvie Gruszczynski (FRA).
Along with Gorbunova, Alben was the best offesnive player in Bratislava. She put up 19.6 ppg for Turkey and had a tournament high 36 points in her team's final game against France. Standing just 170 cm, she also grabbed a remarkable 9.1 rpg, dished 3.9 apg and came up with 4.3 spg (first overall).
Gruszczynski was the captain and team leader of a talented French team. She led all players in assists at 5.9 apg and grabbed 5.1 rpg to go along with 12.3 ppg.
Sandrine Gruda (FRA) and Tatiana Bokareva (RUS) were the final 2 selections to the All-Star Five.
Gruda was undoubtedly one of the most physically gifted players in Bratislava. She used her athleticism and long reach to great effect and was almost unstoppable in the paint. Gruda was third in the championship in scoring at 18.1 ppg and co-leader (with Bokareva) in rebounding, 13.4 rpg.
Last but not least was Russian center Tatiana Bokareva. Displaying multiple skills to go along with her 191 cm frame, Bokareva dominated most of her opponents, capped by her 26 point, 23 rebound performance against Spain in the final.
She averaged 16.4 ppg, 13.4 rpg and an impressive 3.4 spg (2nd overall).
