Irena Borecka
Career: Zdas Zdar nad Sazavou (Czech Republic-ZBL, 1998-99), Gambrinus Brno (Czech Republic-ZBL, 1999-2002), Trutnov (Czech Republic-ZBL, 2002-05), MBK Ruzomberok (Slovakia-Extraliga, 2005-06), Miscolc (2006-07), Foton Györ (Hungary-NHKL, 2007-08), Karlovy Vary (Czech Republic-ZBL, 2008-09).

Irena Borecka possesses great international experience having played for the U18 side in that finished fourth at the 1998 European Championship Women, the U20 group that won silver in 2000 and the senior team from 2001 to 2005. A little older than the members of the golden generation of Czech Republic women's basketball, she managed to keep a spot in the selection up to 2005, winning gold that year in Turkey and silver in Greece in 2003. She is a solid back-up shooting guard, even if she suffers from a lack of height. After playing in Slovakia and Hungary the last two years, she came back to Czech Republic this season to join Karlovy Vary. She averaged 9.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game in the ZBL.
