Anete Jekabsone Zogota had a pretty amazing 2007 and 2008 hasn't started off half bad either.
Last year she led club side Dynamo Moscow to a EuroCup Women title and in September emerged as the clear leader for the Latvian national team, leading them in points and assists on their way to a spot in the semi-finals of EuroBasket Women.
In 2008 she has continued to play well with Dynamo now competeing in the EuroLeague Women where they recently advanced to the quarter-final play-offs with a pair of wins over Lotos PKO BP.
All that hard work and strong play paid off last week when she was named the FIBA Europe Women's Player of the Year. We're sure she's honoured but when she sat down with FIBA Europe recently we got a bit more personal in 24 seconds.

Anete Jekabsone-Zogota: Oh, this was when I was a kid. I made a steal, forgot where to shoot and scored into our own basket.
FIBA Europe: What is your first thought when you wake up in the morning?
Anete Jekabsone-Zogota: About when I can sleep again. I love to sleep.
