Dexia Namur 67 vs. VBM-SGAU 68
// 09 December 2004

Dexia Namur lost their game tonight against the EuroLeague favourites by only one single point!!

Miedzik finished the match with 16 points and Sanford was the best rebounder of the match with 13 rebounds. The Belgian player on the Samara team, Ann Wauters, took 11 rebounds and for the guests Maria Stepanova was the best scorer with 14 points.

Ann Wauters was hugely welcomed in the “Spiroudôme”. Szymanska lost a few very important balls at the beginning of the match, but the Russian team also missed a few good opportunities to score.

Thanks to Wielebnowska’s performance, Dexia Namur was leading 21-15 in the first quarter.

At the beginning of the 2nd period Dexia's very aggressive defence managed to dig a gap of 10 points. They were able to hold on to their advantage thanks to Sanford’s input (29-21 in the 15th minute).

Unfortunately, the Namur team weren't able to keep this gap. The game was very tight thereafter, Namur’s defense took many rebounds even though they lost 14 balls.

Samara then started to take the advantage of strength and experience -  the game was still tight, but Samara had more open shots and thanks to that, they took a small lead.

The end of the game many disputed around free throws, but this was unfortunately not enough for the home team to catch up and take the win.
