Ekaterina Demagina

Career: CSKA Samara (Russia-Superleague, 1997-2000), SKIF Moscow (Russia-Superleague, 2000-02), CSKA Samara (Russia-Superleague, 2002-04), Dynamo Moscow  (Russia-Superleague, 2004), Baltiyskaia Zvezda Saint-Petersburg (Russia-Superleague, 2004), Dynamo Moscow (Russia-Superleague, 2004-05), NUR Kazan (Russia-Superleague, 2005), Chevakata Vologda (Russia-Superleague, 2005-07)

Unselfish point guard Ekaterina Demagina first debuted for the National Team at EuroBasket Women 2001, in the semifinal round. She scored nine points against Finland and then had to wait another five years for a call-up. However, the long pause was worth it if you consider the 2006 World Championship silver medal something worthwhile. Previously, her highest career achievement was a gold medal at the 2002 World Championship for Young Women.  Demagina started her career as an off-guard so she isn’t a natural at setting the table and running the point but the 25-year-old is diligent and has shown great improvement in that area over the past couple of years.
