Olena Zherzherunova brings the necessary experience to this young Ukrainian side. She proved she can be a leader of the team during the additional qualification round, providing much-needed help to Olexandra Gorbunova in the vital wins of the campaign. Zherzherunova can play the four or the five, she is a great rebounder and a shot-blocker. She is a great defender with a very strong help-side game and she also runs the floor very well for a post player. Zherzherunova was one of the leaders of her Hungarian club Szeged. She scored 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in a semi-final decider, helping her team advance to the final after a 12-year break, where they ended up with a silver medal.
