Injured Ros Casares point guard Elisa Aguilar is the first to admit that Becky Hammon's presence in the squad is more important now than ever with the club gearing up for Tuesday's EuroLeague Women play-off game against ZVVZ USK Prague. Spain international Aguilar has been out of action with a muscular injury and isn't expected to play against the Czech team. "Becky is a great player and when I play, she tends to play as a two," Aguilar said. "But now she has had to play also asĀ a guard and she is scoring a lot. "I hope she continues like that because it is important for the team." Aguilar says her injury problems couldn't have come at a worse time. "It's awful not to be able to play," she said. "This is the first injury I've had and it hasn't come at the right time. I played injured in the Copa de la Reina and now, the (EuroLeague) play-offs against Prague begin and it's going to be difficult for me to play." Aguilar is the captain of Ros Casares and nothing is more frustrating for a leader than to miss games through injury. "I am working on getting better but you need time," she said. "When I return to play I will do it with so much determination that I will even eat the court because I really suffer having to watch games from the stands." |
