Agnieszka Bibrzycka helped Fenerbahce out of jail with 13 points
A red-hot final quarter by Fenerbahce ended the possibility of a potential shock home loss to pesky UE Sopron as the Turkish giants came from behind to record a 77-71 win in EuroLeague Women Group B.
The visitors looked destined to cause a real upset for three quarters of the contest having produced an excellent first-half display.
A 12-2 run midway through the second quarter helped the visitors secure a healthy double-digit lead which was out to 42-29 by the time they left the court at the midway point of the contest.
No doubt bracing themselves for a Fenerbahce backlash when they returned to the court, Sopron stayed strong and still led 56-49 heading into the final period.
But, Fener finally managed to move through the gears and once they got onto a roll, the visitors began to feel the pressure as the pendulum swung vigorously in the favour of the hosts.
They put together a 13-4 run midway through the final period and when Agnieszka Bibrzycka sunk a three-ball to complete the comeback and put the home team 67-65 ahead, there only looked like being one winner - and so it proved.
Sopron lost the momentum at the wrong time and couldn't hold on or re-establish themselves as Fenerbahce bounced backto winning ways after their nail-biting loss at Nadezhda.
Bibrzycka had three triples on her way to 13 points whilst Ivana Matovic did the business under the hoop with 17 points and eight rebounds.
Sara Krnjic had an excellent 11 points and seven rebounds for Sopron.
