Rumours have surfaced Fenerbahce are working to bring point-guard Cappie Pondexter back to Istanbul.

Currently with UMMC Ekaterinburg but reported to be leaving with Sue Bird ready to arrive in Russia next month, it looks like Pondexter could end up with her former team who are the only EuroLeague Women club yet to taste defeat in the competition this season.

Fenerbahce claimed a convincing 84-65 success against Besiktas over the weekend as Angel McCoughtry continued her rich vein of form by pouring in 27 points. In addition to the poor result, there was some further bad news for EuroCup Women hopefuls Besiktas after it was revealed Courtney Vandersloot sustained a fractured nose.

Elsewhere in Turkey, Optimum Ted Ankara have added to their numbers with the acquisition of Kara Braxton while Galatasaray Medical Park remains hot on the heels of Fenerbahce after claiming a comfortable 75-61 home win over Antalya as the race for the regular season league title looks to be two horse race as predicted.

The same could arguably be said in Russia where heavyweights Sparta&K M.R. Vidnoje and UMMC Ekaterinburg produced another epic and memorable tussle with the former claiming an exciting 85-83 victory in Moscow. Candice Dupree and Seimone Augustus combined for 48 points for the winning team.

The third EuroLeague Women representative from Russia received a major shock as Nadezhda was shot down 76-73 at Spartak Noginsk despite almost coming back from the dead with a stunning 30-6 last quarter. Nadezhda drop to fifth spot with a hugely disappointing 4-4 record while Dynamo Kursk are doing their level best to ensure it isn't a two horse race in the pursuit of top spot in the standings as they hang on to the tails of the big two in third place.

There was also a top of the table clash in Poland between two EuroLeague Women representatives as Wisla Can-Pack headed to CCC Polkowice and experienced their first domestic loss of the season, goind down 71-65 despite another monstrous performance by Ewelina Kobryn who recorded a big double-double.

In Spain, a new era began at Ros Casares as play-caller Roberto Iniguez celebrated being handed the reins by claiming a convincing 89-49 road win at RC Celta. Perfumerias Avenida dodged a bullet at home to Soller Bon Dia with a hard fought 77-72 victory but there was further disappointment for Rivas Ecopolis. Having lost three consecutive games in EuroLeague Women, the Madrid club fell 55-50 in an intense defensive encounter at Mann Filter Zaragoza to lose ground in their bid to keep pace with the big two.
