Perfumerias Avenida remained perfect in their EuroLeague Women title defense with a 74-64 triumph at UNIQA-Euroleasing Sopron.
The Spanish club gave themselves a perfect platform for victory by outscoring the Hungarian team 23-14 in the first quarter.
Dewanna Bonner had five of her game-high 32 points in the frame as Avenida went on a 10-0 run over the last two minutes of the period for a nine-point advantage.
Forced to play catch-up, Sopron battled but didn't make any inroads until late in the third quarter which saw the club chip away at a 55-45 deficit.
In the last two minutes of the frame, Tijana Krivacevic had four points in an 8-0 run that closed the gap to 55-53.
Bonner, who had 23 points by the end of the third quarter, made one of two free-throws at the start of the fourth quarter, only for Olexandra Kurasova to score her only basket of the game with a lay-up to reduce the arrears to 56-55.
Kurasova, formerly known as Gorbunova before getting married, played for Avenida during the 2009-10 campaign.
Lucas Mondelo's outfit was too strong.
Marta Fernandez and Laura Antoja each made a pair of free-throws and then Bonner came up with a steal and fast-break lay-up to take the lead to 62-55.
Lay-ups by Fernandez and Bonner extended the advantage back to 66-55.
Sopron got no closer than six points the rest of the way.
Bonner also had game highs in rebounds with 10 and steals with three.
Dora Horti finished with 16 points and nine boards in defeat. Sopron slumped to 1-2 with the setback.
