Fenerbahce won for the eighth consecutive time in the EuroLeague Women on Wednesday night to remain the lone unbeaten side in the competition.

The Turkish club used a terrific first quarter as a launch pad for a 79-65 victory.

In winning, Fener maintained their vice-like grip on first place in Group B and dropped Schio to 4-5.

Ivana Matovic had six points and Angel McCoughtry four as Fener stormed into a 12-4 lead in the first four and a half minutes of the contest.

On top 14-8, McCoughtry caught a pass from Nevriye Yilmaz and hit a jumper to ignite a 10-0 run for the hosts.

The team coached by George Dikeoulakos remained in control the rest of the way.

They carried a 45-26 advantage to half-time.

When Schio trimmed the deficit to 55-43 midway through the third quarter, Taylor earned a trip to the line and split two free-throws before Matovic added a three-point play.

McCoughtry then followed up her own miss and scored to make it a 61-43 lead.

By the end of the frame, Fener had a 70-48 lead.

The home side had the first two baskets of the third quarter to open up a 26-point advantage and coasted the rest of the way.

Taylor and Matovic poured in 21 points apiece and McCoughtry added 18.

Yilmaz, a member of the all-tournament team at the EuroBasket Women 2011 after leading Turkey to the silver medal, took just two shots and didn't score for Fener.

Schio got 18 points from Cheryl Ford and 16 from Laura Macchi.
