|Sopron's Tijana Krivacevic finished with 16 points and most of them came at a crucial moment in the game|
UNIQA-Euroleasing Sopron sparked their EuroLeague Women campaign back into life with a comprehensive home win over CCC Polkowice in Group B on Wednesday evening.
Norbert Székely's side prevailed 75-58 to halt a three-game losing streak, while the Polish outfit failed to build on last week's triumph over Beretta-Famila Schio.
The Hungarian team only led 33-31 with 2:40 to go in the first half when they began to put some meaningful distance between themselves and the visitors.
Tijana Krivacevic scored five consecutive points to stretch the advantage to seven.
Then, when on top 40-35 early in the third quarter, lay-ups by Dóra Horti, Hanna Zavecz, and back-to-back shots from Krivacevic stretched the lead to 13.
A pair of free-throws by Zsófia Fegyverneky and another jumper by Krivacevic, which took her points haul to 13, had Sopron in complete command at 52-35 late in the frame.
Polkowice managed to claw the deficit back to nine early in the fourth quarter but Sopron had a boisterous crowd behind them and all the momentum and pulled back ahead for a decisive victory.
Krivacevic finished with 16 points while Fegyverneky added 14 and seven assists.
Perovanovic led Polkowice with 12 points.
