|Sancho Lyttle led the charge with 20 points and 9 rebounds as Ros Casares thrashed Galatasaray in Istanbul|
Ros Casares brought an end to Galatasaray's unbeaten start to the season in ruthless fashion on Wednesday by rolling to victory in the clash of EuroLeague heavyweights in Istanbul.
The Spaniards led from start to finish and out-rebounded Gala 52-31 en route to a 76-46 triumph.
For Ros, Sancho Lyttle and Laia Palau poured in 20 points apiece, Ann Wauters had game-high 15 rebounds to go with her eight points and Silvia Dominguez finished with 11 points, five assists and two steals.
Ros Casares also got a solid game from Isabelle Yacoubou, who had eight points and six boards.
The visitors won with ease and didn't play Lauren Jackson or Kata Honti.
Knowing that, and the fact that Maya Moore will be joining the team later in the season, makes Ros Casares look like a team that could go all the way.
The result has left both sides 6-1 records at the top of Group A.
Ros have been in a good mood since coming from behind at home last week to shock UMMC Ekaterinburg.
They began Wednesday's game with a three-pointer from captain Palau and Jana Vesela followed with a jumper.
After Diana Taurasi connected from the arc to get Galatasaray on the board, Dominguez drained a jumper for her first two points of the contest.
Jump shots by Wauters and Lyttle made it 12-3.
Galatasaray, who scraped a narrow win last week at Bourges, showed some fight and reduced the arrears to 16-13 after a three-point play by Tina Charles.
Eshaya Murphy, Yacoubou and Lyttle had baskets to finish the opening quarter for Ros as they led 22-13.
The lead ballooned to 34-19 by half-time and 46-23 nearly four minutes into the third quarter.
Taurasi had 14 points and Tina Charles nine while Spaniard Alba Torrens did not play for Galatasaray.
