On the opening day of the EuroLeague Women Final Eight, Fenerbahce go up against Beretta Famila Schio.

The Turkish powerhouse are the only unbeaten team in the competition, having registered 14 straight wins since the start of the season.

Fenerbahce topped Group B in the First Round with their perfect 12-0 record and then went on to eliminate Montpelier in the Second Round play-offs and punch their ticket to the Final Eight.

Beretta Famila Schio on the other hand won only one of their first four games in the first round and at that point they didn't look at all like an outfit that could pass to the second round, let alone see how Istanbul looks in late March.

The Italians though recovered, lost only two more games in the remainder of the Regular Season and finished with a balanced 6-6 record to clinch a spot in the play-offs.

The best was yet to come. Schio were the underdogs in the Second Round tie with Perfumerias Avenida, yet they produced the biggest upset of the season so far by defeating the reigning EuroLeague Women champions away in Salamanca, 67-59, and then winning the second game too, at home, to deservedly earn a place in the Final Eight against all odds.

The two teams know each other quite well already.

Fenerbahce met with Beretta Famila twice in Group B of the First Round and, naturally, the yet undefeated Turkish side won both encounters.

Penny Taylor, with 23 points, led Fenerbahce to a 70-65 win on the road on day two of the Regular Season, while Angel McCoughtry had 18 points and eight rebounds when the two teams met in Istanbul in the return fixture and Beretta Famila fell, 79-65.
