Iziane Castro Marques hit the winning shot with 29 seconds left as Wisla Can-Pack maintained their perfect record by topping Gospic Croatia 77-75 in a thrilling finish to their EuroLeague Women Group B clash.
Gospic had trailed 70-61 with 4:55 to go, but a determined rally - sparked by Ivana Jurcevic's three-pointer - saw them close the gap and then eventually draw level, 75-75, on another long-range effort from Jurcevic with 50 seconds left.
But Castro Marques nailed a jump-shot and then, when Jurcevic missed a three-pointer that would have put Gospic in front, it was the Brazilian forward who snared the rebound to preserve Wisla's lead.
While Castro Marques was the star of the final minute, this had been the Janell Burse show up until then as she finished with 31 points and 15 rebounds for the hosts.
Ewelina Kobryn added 11 points and 10 rebounds, while Castro Marques also scored in double figures with 10.
Jelena Ivezic led Gospic with 19 points, while Jelavic had 15, Jurcevic 13 and Carla Thomas 10.
Wisla top the group with a perfect 5-0 record, while Gospic suffered their fifth straight defeat.
Stipe Bralic (Gospic Croatia):
"It was a very good game for my team - but I am not happy. Wisla was much better on rebounds and they have the stars like Janell Burse."
Jose Hernandez (Wisla Can-Pack):
"We knew that this game would be hard. Gospic is a good team. We knew about the most dengerous weapon of them, the three-point shot but our players did not stop them - so the game was hard and close. We were not patient enough"
