Milovanovic Out For Sopron

MKB Euroleasing Sopron are off to a flying start in the EuroLeague Women with wins over Good Angels Kosice and KSSSE AZS-PWSZ Gorzow, and their coach Norbert Székely was on Thursday night also named as the new boss of the Hungarian women's national team.

But Sopron, who reached the EuroLeague Women Final Four last season, are going to have to overcome some adversity for at least the next month after losing All-Star forward Jelena Milovanovic to a hand injury.

The Serbia international had an operation on Thursday with metal screws inserted and must wear a cast for 10 days before beginning her rehabilitation.

It has been an eventful week for Milovanovic, who had been doubtful for Sopron's game against Gorzow after experiencing dizziness and blurred vision in the days before the contest and even went to the hospital to be examined.

But she felt good to go on Wednesday and played, scoring a game-high 21 points in Sopron's 78-64 triumph over Gorzow.

Milovanovic, 20, played at the EuroLeague Women All-Star Game last year in Paris.
