Spain's Silvia Dominguez cut down the nets at the U20 European Championship for Women in 2007 and was honoured as the Most Valuable Player of that event.
And last year she helped her country reach the Beijing Games by playing in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Madrid.
None of it, she says, compares to what is about to unfold this weekend in Salamanca where she and her Halcon Avenida teammates will play in the EuroLeague Women Final Four.
Avenida, in a truly remarkable Eighth-Finals play-off series against CSKA Moscow, won 2-1 after clinching a Game 3 victory in double overtime before their fans in Salamanca.
They followed that up with a 2-0 sweep of MiZo Pecs, thus earning a spot in a Semi-Final against MKB Euroleasing Sopron.
It is the first-ever appearance for Avenida in the Final Four.
"I have played in European tournaments but this is the biggest tournament of my career," she said to FIBA Europe.
"We are surprised to have reached the Final Four and we know that we are one game away from playing in the Final and we'll give everything to get there with the support of our fans."
Spartak Moscow Region and UMMC Ekaterinburg meet in an all-Russian showdown in the other Semi-Final.
