USK Prague led from start to finish and claimed a hugely important win at home against Union Hainaut Basket on Wednesday in the EuroLeague Women.

With just one victory in their first four games, Prague won 83-58 to leave both sides with 2-4 records.

Swin Cash poured in a game-high 27 points to lead the Czechs, with fellow American Lindsay Whalen contributing 20.

Prague, whose form has dipped with Croatian center Sonja Kireta unavailable in recent weeks, got a huge boost from Michaela Feranciková.

The veteran Czech pivot had 11 points in the opening nine minutes and when Markéta Bednářová drilled a three to finish the first quarter, Prague led 24-10.

The team looked as if it was going to stroll to victory after Bednářová passed to Whalen and the EuroLeague Women All-Star buried a shot from the arc for a 41-21 advantage.

Union Hainaut came storming back over the last 3:15 of the first half.

Vedrana Grgin Fonseca drilled a three-pointer for her first basket and more importantly to spark a 13-0 run to leave Prague on top 41-34 at the break.

Cash and Whalen combined to score 16 points in the third quarter to settle the home side's nerves and help them re-establish a 62-45 lead with 10 minutes remaining.

Cash continued to pour in the points in the fourth quarter in her best EuroLeague Women display so far as Prague sealed the triumph.

Feranciková finished with 16 points while Mudju Ngoyisa had 20 points in defeat for Union Hainaut.
