Ever since she exploded onto the scene at EuroBasket Women 2005, Anna Montanana has relentlessly produced the goods for her country at every major tournament. Particularly outstanding two years ago in Latvia at EuroBasket Women 2009, she continued her good work at the FIBA World Championship Women in the Czech Republic last year. Happy on the block, taking open looks from a couple of metres or running the open floor on offence, she is equally as important defensively. Hugely experienced now, she can be relied upon to lock down powerful opponents and some of her best games have come in a National Team vest. She was one of the high profile departures at Ros Casares last summer but still made it back to the Final Four yet again in EuroLeague Women with Halcon Avenida and this time finished top of the podium. She's till very much the real deal and a solid performer at this level. |
