CSKA Moscow crushed TTT Riga 82-56 to open their EuroLeague Women Group A campaign in formidable fashion.
Center Ann Wauters led the charge, pouring in 24 points and claiming 13 rebounds, while Maria Stepanova added another 16 points.
Olena Zherzherunova sunk 12 points for the visitors, but from the early stages they never seemed likely to be anything more than a consolation.
Within five minutes the Russians were 15-8 ahead, and by the end of the opening quarter the lead was 25-18.
An Elina Babkina free-throw reduced the Riga arrears by a point at the start of the second, but it was a false dawn and CSKA closed the period 48-26 in front.
The third quarter was much the same - CSKA opening a 30-point gap at one stage - and the fourth was a formality as the Russians cruised to victory.
