UMMC Ekaterinburg made a stirring fightback in the second half to stun Ros Casares in the EuroLeague Women on Tuesday.

Milan Veverka's team got 24 points and 13 rebounds from American star Cheryl Ford en route to an 81-73 victory.

The result lifted the Russian club to the top of Group C with six wins from eight games, while Ros Casares fell to 5-3.

Delisha Milton's jump shot in the final minute of the first half gave the visitors from Spain a 45-32 advantage at the break and they looked to be well and truly in command.

But UMMC outscored them 25-14 in the third quarter to trail only 59-57 heading into the final quarter.

Lindsay Whalen poured in nine of her 20 points in that frame for the hosts.

The two sides then battled, with the lead changing hands on several occasions over the opening five minutes of the final period.

Milton, who recently signed a contract extension with Ros Casares, scored two of her team-high 19 points on a tap-in with 4:17 remaining to put the Spaniards into a 70-68 lead.

It marked the last time they would be in front.

Elena Gogiya split one of two free throws, and Whalen took a feed from Adia Barnes and nailed a jumper.

Those points came at the front of an 11-0 run which spanned 3:10 and left the home team holding a commanding 79-70 advantage.

Laia Palau stopped the rot with a three-pointer for Ros Casares, but it was too little, too late.
