Telekomas Win Opener Against Napoli
// 31 January 2006

Katie Douglas is a EuroLeague Women's All-Star and she played like it on Tuesday as Lietuvos Telekomas saw off the determined challenge of Phard Napoli in the first game of their eighth-final play-off.

Douglas exploded for 23 points on nine of 17 shooting, including two of five from the arc, as the Lithuanian side won 71-62.

Phard Napoli led for much of the second quarter but trailed 36-34 at half-time as their hosts got a three-pointer from Ieva Kublina inside the final minute and Jennifer Derevjanik made a pair of free throws.

After the break, Sandra Valuzyte made a jumper and then found Rima Valentiene open behind the arc and fed her team-mate for a three-pointer.

That long-range shot capped a 10-0 spurt for Lietuvos Telekomas, who remained in command for the rest of the game.
