Phard Napoli turned on the style in the fourth quarter to pull away from hosts K Cero ICP Kosice 81-67 on Wednesday evening.
The Slovakian outfit looked as if it might be on its way to a first victory of the season when Tiffani Johnson scored two of her team-high 17 points for a 53-45 advantage.
That bucket came with three minutes and 43 seconds to go in the third quarter, and it capped an 11-0 spurt.
Far from leaving the visitors from Italy reeling, though, the surge sparked Phard into life.
Sara Giauro made four straight free throws, and then Vanessa Bullett scored a basket and added a pair from the line to tie the contest at 53-53 with 8:47 to go in the game.
Jana Carnoká buried a three-pointer to give Kosice their last lead at 56-55 just over a minute later.
A Francesca Zara jump shot, a three-point play from Bullett and a Giauro lay-up put the visitors ahead at 62-56 and they went on to outscore Kosice 30-14 in the quarter.
Bullett had 26 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and two blocked shots to lead Phard, who improved to five wins and five defeats in Group C while K Cero ICP lost for the 10th time in as many games. |
