Taurasi Steers Dynamo To Win
// 11 January 2006

Diana Taurasi grabbed 14 points for Dynamo Moscow as they beat Phard Napoli 57-44 in their final home game in Group C of the EuroLeague Women.

The American guard's superb all-round performance included five rebounds and three assists as the Russian giants picked up their sixth win of the group.

The game was in the balance at the end of the second quarter with the score delicately poised at 27-23 but the hosts pulled away in the second half and won with something to spare.

“We had an interesting game tonight,” Dynamo Moscow head coach Boris Sokolovsky said.

“There were several hard situations for us in this match especially in the end of the fourth quarter, but we managed to pull together and end up with the victory.”

Taurasi may have been the heartbeat of Dynamo but she was overshadowed in both the scoring and rebounding stakes by Napoli's Victoria Bullett.

Bullett, a compatriot of Taurasi, pulled down nine takes from the glass and added a game-high 15 points, but her contribution was in vain as none of her team-mates made it into double figures.

Dynamo, who have a 6-3 record, are now in with a shout of claiming second spot in the group.

The Italians' place in the last 16 has already been assured but they sit on a 4-5 record.
