Hot-Shooting Cserny Leads MKB
// 14 December 2005

Réka Cserny poured in 26 points to help fire MKB Euroleague Sopron to a 90-76 triumph over Lotos Gdynia in EuroLeague Women Group B on Wednesday.

Seeking their fourth win of the season, the hosts found themselves in a dogfight midway through the second quarter when they held a 30-28 lead.

Cserny split two free throws at the end of the half for a 43-37 lead.

They gradually began to pull away early in the third quarter.

Leading 47-41 a minute and 15 seconds into the second half, Sopron went on a 10-2 run with a Cserny three-pointer and an Ivana Matovic basket capping off the spurt.

Lotos never recovered and went on to lose for the sixth time in eight games.

Cserny was the game's outstanding player, making 11 of 14 shots from the floor, including both attempts from the three-point line, while also grabbing eight rebounds and coming up with three steals.

Gordana Kovacevic led Lotos with 23 points in defeat.

MKB will resume their EuroLeague Women campaign on January 11 when they travel to Bourges, while Lotos will be at home to Famila Schio.
