// 15.03.2005

Dynamo Moscow have one leg in the EuroLeague Women Final Four after their away win over Lietuvos telekomas on Tuesday night.

Natalia Vodopyanova grabbed 8 offensive rebounds for Dynamo
Lietuvos were undefeated at home going into the contest, but Dynamo proved too strong for the Lithuanian champions, edging the contest 73-77.

After a slow start (they trailed 11-3 in the 5th minute), Dynamo came back to finish the quarter 13-19. Lietuvos fought back in the second quarter and reduced Dynamo's lead to 2 points, 36-38, at halftime.

The key period in the game came in the third quarter. A 12-2 run by Dynamo saw them regain control, and trailing by 9 points (54-63) going into the fourth, Lietuvos had their work cut out.

Lietuvos were not quite ready to capitulate victory and they fought back in the fourth. They were able to get within 2 points on 3 separate occasions, but Mwadi Mabiki's final minute free throws (she made 4/4) settled the game in Dynamo's favour.

Natalia Vodopyanova led Dynamo with 22 points and 15 rebounds. Elena Baranova added 9 rebounds for Dynamo, who grabbed a total of 21 offensive boards.

Katie Douglas top scored for Lietuvos telekomas with 23 points.

Algirdas Paulauskas (Head Coach, Lietuvos Telekomas Vilnius):

"21 offensive rebounds won the game for the Russian team. We did not play well in one-on-one defense. I hope that in Moscow we will win and bring the series back to Vilnius”.

Armands Kraulins (Head Coach, Dynamo Moscow):

“We played badly, but the result is positive. In Moscow we will play a completely different game and we will win”.
