In what was to be BK Loko's final game in the FIBA Euroleague, their objective tonight was to come out and try to put on a good show against Ros Casares for their fans. Despite three starters being out, and half of the team suffering from symptoms of the flu, the home team managed to win the first quarter 28-20.
The second quarter started out still in Trutnov's favor as they went up by 11, however at this point the Spanish champions awoke. They proceeded to outscore the home team 15-36 and with it took a 43-56 lead in to the locker room.
In the second half Trutnov ran out of gas and their game that got them the lead in the first quarter disappeared. They managed to shoot 45% from the field, but Ros Casares bettered them with 60%. Due to poor rebounding (outrebounded 24-48) and turnovers (32) the home team was outscored 25-47 in the second half. The visitors ran away with their eighth win in the league with a score of 68-103.
Zdenek Sýkora, Head Coach of BK Loko:
"I rate the match very high, especialy the first quarter when we successfully practiced counter-attacks and also hit three-pointers. We lost our strength at the end of the first half due to illnesses. Unfortunately our formation was influenced by illnesses of our key
players, which was visible especially at the end of game when we could play only with the young, inexeprienced players."
Israel Sanchis, Head Coach of Ros Casares:
"We cannot say it was an easy game. We were aware of the fact, that Trutnov can play very
well. Anyway we couldn´t prevent losing in the first half."
Elisa Aguilar, Player for Ros Casares:
"This game was very important for us as we wanted to win and get the best possible position for playoffs. Trutnov showed a good performance in the first half. Luckily we turned the match to our side."
Petra Kulichová, Player for BK Loko:
"We started the game very good, but then we lost our momentum and stamina. It was great moment for us, our team and town to play in Euroleague. Many thanks to our fans."
