MiZo-Pécsi VSK stay unbeaten at home, tonight against a strong Ros Casares, who tried their best to break the Hungarian winning streak, but ultimately failed in a thrilling match
Two really strong teams battled against each other this evening on Pécs' sold-out home court. The Spanish side started the game better, but the local side wouldn't allow them any proper lead so after the 1st quarter the difference was minimal (13:14).
In the 2nd period Pécs pulled ahead on some fine 3-point shooting (9 from 18). Valencia rebounded very well, however László Rátgéber's team showed simply better team-play and had 20 assists (Valencia 5). After 33 minutes the score was 56:45 for Pécs.
But the game was far from won for the Hungarians. Valencia fought back with outstanding force and cut the deficit to one single point with two minutes remaining.
With the game almost over Ros Casares switched to zone defence. However, Pécs were able to rely on their best weapon that night and sank two 3 pointers for the win. |
