BOXSCORE
Kozachka - Zalk 89 vs. Lietuvos Telekomas 96
// 27 January 2005

With a 2-game winning streak behind them, Ukrainian side Kozachka Zalk were confident in taking on Lithuanian visitors Lietuvos Telekomas Vilnius in the EuroLeague Women tonight. But despite producing probably their best performance of the season, Kozachka fell short of victory, finally losing the game in overtime.

If Kozachka lack anything, it is star power. Lietuvos Telekomas, on the other hand, can count on Katie Douglas. Douglas has been spectacular all season for the Lithuanian champions, and against Kozachka she exploded for season highs in points (32), rebounds (13) and assists (7).

It was Lietuovs Telekomas who made the early running and Kozachka who were forced to play catch-up.

Kozachka eventually got within striking distance of the visitors in the fourth quarter. With 3 minutes to go they trailed by 1 point, 70-71, setting up a grandstand finish.

Both sides had chances to win the game in regulation but neither could come up with the killer blow, sending the contest into overtime.

Lietuvos Telekomas have been one of the strongest side in the EuroLeague Women this season, and their strength and depth showed in the extra period. They outscored Kozachka 17-10, winning the game and consolidating their place at the top of Group A.
